DYNABRASS POLKA BAND TO APPEAR AT SS PETER AND PAUL CHURCH
One of the most popular and sought-after polka bands in the country, Dynabrass has performed at both one-band events as well as major festivals throughout the country. They have performed in many states, such as Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, as well as places such as California, Florida and Canada and on cruises. They have regularly performed at such major national festivals as the United States Polka Association (USPA) Convention (Cleveland, OH), St. Stan's Festival (Bay City, MI), Polka Fireworks (Seven Springs, Champion, PA), Bel-Aire Days (Chicago, IL), Pulaski Polka Days (Pulaski, WI), and Frankenmuth Music Fest (Frankenmuth, MI).
Dynabrass has also won several prestigious awards in the polka field. In 2005, their CD "Unfinished Business" was awarded the favorite recording by the USPA, and the lead song from that recording "Call on Me" was voted favorite song in 2005 by both the USPA and a listeners poll on the website 247polkaheaven.com. The lead vocalist, Jeff Mleczko (also the leader of the group) was voted Male Vocalist of the year by the USPA in 2005 and 2007. Also, Dynabrass became the first Michigan polka band to record a live album, with their 2007 CD "Bay City Nights", the first live recording done at St. Stan's Festival in Bay City, MI. The leader of Dynabrass, Jeff Mleczko, also appeared in the 2002 movie "Welcome to Collinwood" with the Toledo Polkamotion band, and two of Jeff's original songs are on the soundtrack from that movie.
SS Peter and Paul Church proudly presents Dynabrass, from Waterford, MI, who will be providing the musical entertainment during the 3rd Annual Labor Day Extravaganza on Sunday, September 5,2010 from 2-7pm.
